FAQ’s

images-11EDUCATE YOURSELF: BE AWARE OF FALSE CLAIMS BY OTHER COMPANIES AND YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS!

FALSE CLAIM:  ”Breathalyzer vending machines require FCC certification in order to be sold or even plugged into a wall in the USA.  FCC compliance is a VERY lengthy & a VERY expensive process. Any machines sold without FCC compliance are subject to repossession as they are being used illegally”

FACT: The FCC is not correlated in any way with the selling, distribution or use of breathalyzer vending machines or any vending machines for that matter. From the FCC website: “The Federal Communications Commission regulates interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable in all 50 states”….. http://www.fcc.gov/what-we-do

FALSE CLAIM: Semi-Conductor sensors are less accurate than fuel cell sensors, and cost more money to replace.

FACT: Semi-Conductor sensor are just as accurate as Fuel Cell sensors, however semi-conductor sensor results may be affected if the person exhaling into the sensor is on certain medications or smokes before the test.

FALSE CLAIM: Certain machines use low quality throw-away sensors and have a shelf-life of about 6 months.

FACT: All sensors, at some point, will be “thrown away” and need to be replaced over time no matter what type they are! All sensors  cost within $20-$30 of each other and will need to be replaced within 2 years or less unless your machine is at a very low usage location. Alco-Checkpoint uses sensors that do not have a shelf life if not being used. They must be used to be expended and last between 900-1100+ uses.

FALSE CLAIM:  Other companies claim that their breathalyzer vending machines are made entirely in the USA

FACT: Most companies have their machines electronics made oversee’s because it is not possible to manufacture the electronics in the USA at an affordable rate (due to high labor costs), which, in turn gives USA consumers a lower initial investment. Even companies like Apple Computers and General Electric have their components made in other countries in order to keep costs lower for consumers. However, many companies do have the casings for the electronics manufactured in the USA to save on heavy shipping costs and to support our economy.
